Finding The “Gold”: You Might Be Looking In The Wrong Place
This was on my mind, and I share it with you in hopes that you find as much value in it as I did.
Here is a quick, but powerful story for you…
There once was a huge, beautiful kingdom.
It had one main road going in and out.
It was a busy road, but there was a large rock right in the middle.
The countless number of travelers simply ignored the rock, doing their best to make their way around it.
Try as they might, it was impossible to avoid it at all times.
Many tripped, stubbed their toes, or even had broken wagon wheels because of the rock.
Yet no one did anything…
One day, a family was making their voyage into the city to sell a barrel of beer they had brewed.
It was their last chance, as they had spent all their money on the endeavor.
They hit the rock and watched in horror as the barrel that contained all their hope plummeted to the ground, hit that same rock, and burst.
The dirt thirstily drank the liquid.
There was nothing left…
The family’s little girl looked around in despair.
Why had no one fixed this?
The rock had to be a known problem, yet here it still was.
The little girl fell to her knees and started digging at the rock.
She dug around it for hours. Even when her hands were bleeding.
Finally, she had dug enough to get the rock out.
When she managed to move the rock, she noticed something under it.
A large bag of gold.
The king had actually put the rock there, knowing that whoever put in the effort to move it for the good of all, deserved a great reward.
Moral of the story: In life the biggest obstacles we are up against, will always lead to the biggest payoffs.
Keep pushing.
Make today great.
Until next time,
