How Successful People Make Decisions

This is a mindset that I live by that has served me very well in recent years.

“Successful people make decisions fast and keep moving.”

I used to dwell, and ponder, and ask other people for insight on decisions that were not that big of a deal…and it would always delay the action of whatever needed to get done — large or small decisions, and thus the result.

“So what changed, Grady?”, you ask…

I started to apply these 3 practices to shift my thinking into quick, positive decision making.

1. Limit your options.

Don’t overcomplicate your decisions by having too many choices to pick from.

Yes or no. True or false. This or that. Now or later.

Less options = quicker decisions.

2. Think of your time as money.

Indecisiveness squashes sales opportunities.

You wouldn’t let someone else waste your time and you certainly wouldn’t want to partner with someone who fuels hesitancy; so make sure you’re not that person in your own circle.

3. Trust your gut.

You see, we all have this thing we were gifted with at birth… intuition.

That’s the little voice inside of you that just knows what you should do, or shouldn’t do, depending on the situation.

As soon as you are presented with something that needs a decision or item to be acted upon…Go with your first instinct immediately and move on.

Will you always be 100% right? No

But the majority of time you will be right, and that will compound over time = compounded winning.

When you start to implement these behaviors, you’ll find something interesting to happen…

Your decisiveness will grow in conviction and speed with each decision you make.

And the real value is this — you will be 100’s of positive decisions ahead of the person still dwelling on item #1.
