Success Simplified: The 6 Necessary Steps

We all have goals and dreams that we want to achieve, but often we find ourselves stuck in a rut, playing it safe and not taking the necessary steps to get where we want to be.

So, what are those “necessary steps” then, you ask?

Here are the 6 I took — over and over and over again — that ultimately led me down the path to success.

  1. Make a decision
  • Stop playing small.
  • Make a decision to get better.
  • Ask yourself the question, “What does make the decision really mean to me?”
  • What would your life look like if you finally made the decision?

2. Commit to the skills

  • It’s very difficult to get better and look good at the same time. You are going to have to look stupid to get better.
  • Why is anyone confident at anything they do? They have the skills!
  • The skills will make you bullet proof.
  • Make a commitment to the skills, don’t just be aware of them.
  • Remember, you learn in the DOING.

3. Your habits

  • Can you commit to the daily disciplines that go along with building your business and hitting your goals?
  • Can you give up a few things for awhile?
  • The “I should’s” need to become the “I must’s”.
  • Ask yourself, “What are the simple habits that top leaders are engaging in everyday?”

4. Your vision

  • Create a vision for the future.
  • Use your imagination to get it as clear as possible.
  • CLARITY is necessary.
  • People will join you on your vision.
  • Your vision will always start blurry, but the more you focus, the clearer it will get everyday!

5. Become independent

  • Move from the dependent stage to the independent stage.
  • Leaders are here to help you grow, but it’s up to you.
  • Expect nothing from your leaders but appreciate everything.
  • Move from dependent to independent to depended on.

6. WORK YOUR BUTT OFF!

  • Fall in love with the process.
  • Make up in #’s what you lack in skill.
  • Work harder than the guy/girl next to you.
  • Become obsessed.
  • Do what you know you should do.

Don’t extinguish your ambition to want more, to be more, to achieve and accomplish and impact more just because it’s different than what you’ve been doing for so long.

Instead, take the step — one foot in front of the other.

Darren Hardy says, “It’s not the big things that add up in the end; it’s the hundreds, thousands, or millions of little things that separate the ordinary from the extraordinary.”

Go. Be extraordinary. I’m rooting for you.

And I’m here to help if you need it.
