What Are You Fighting For?
Hi. I’m Grady.
One of the unparalleled mentors in my life once said, “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you will fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
Perhaps you know him — The great, Jim Rohn.
I think it was then that I decided to stop playing it so small — so safe — as a waiter trying to upsell my patrons on ordering seabass, as opposed to a salad because that meant the bill would be more, and in hopes, a bigger tip.
Entrepreneurship. We hear the word all the time. But, what actually is it?
By the dictionary definition: the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.
What I’ve come to find is, in essence, that’s what it is — but it’s far beyond that, too. It’s BELIEF.
It’s belief in yourself.
It’s belief in your mission.
It’s belief in the impact you are making.
Then, it’s ALL-OUT massive action toward achieving exactly that, and even more.
When I made the decision to dive head first into starting a business, I really never could have imagined this happening so fast…
You probably don’t believe me, but the decision was actually easy to make. Allow me tell you why:
Because I have something bigger than me that is worth fighting for.
They are the reason I work so hard:
From oldest to youngest, you see Presley, Christian, Cameron, and Vivian. The safety, the security, and the futures of these little ones is my driving force.
Call it cliche, typical, ordinary — call it whatever you want — but the success I’ve had and all that is yet to come, is credited to them.
Do you have something you are fighting to protect?
If not, then start soul searching because when business gets hard, and I assure you it will, you will need something that will push you through the struggle.
You need to find your action motivator. Your driving force. Your motivation.
Do you want to:
- Give back to your mom?
- Take better care of your family?
- Create a better life than you had growing up?
- Prove everyone wrong?
- Prove yourself right?
You have to figure out what that thing is that will push you more than anything else because once you find it, there is not an army in the world that can stop you.
And let’s say that you’ve figured that part out. You know your reason, your “why”, through and through…
But what about the vehicle in which you utilize to achieve your goal — how’s that working for you?
“If you don’t change what you are doing today, all of your tomorrows will look like yesterday.” — Jim Rohn
Think about that. Really, think about it. Do you like what you see?
If you don’t, then it’s time for something new. Trust me, there is magic in new beginnings. You’ll know — you’ll feel it, too.
Looking forward to seeing what kind of magic finds you.
Stay strong, stay positive.
Until next time,
GP
